International Youth Internship Program (IYIP)
Internship in Jamaica

Éducation internationale invites you to complete a mandate that will allow you to gain professional experience in international development in Jamaica through the International Youth Internship Program (IYIP) funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC).

The IYIP experience takes place over a period of seven months: eight days of pre-departure training in Quebec City, six months of internship in the country of assignment and a debriefing upon return.

The internships in Jamaica take place in five high schools.

J1 | Intern in environment - Committee

Learn more

In collaboration with the environment committee:

  • Organize sensibilisation activities about the protection of the environment;
  • Implement a system for the collection and recycling of plastic and paper.
  • Implement a project to develop the school’s green spaces.
  • Bring new and original ideas for improving environmental sustainability at school

Set up activities in the school :

  • To identify the needs of the girls
  • To improve the well-being of students
  • To develop the argumentation in favour of the protection of adolescent girls’ rights
  • Facilitate workshops to improve girls’ interpersonal and communication skills
  • Facilitate workshops focused on girls’ empowerment
  • Establish a peer support system
  • Create and lead a mentoring program
