International Youth Internship Program (IYIP)
Jamaica

Éducation internationale invites you to complete a mandate that will allow you to gain professional experience in international development in Jamaica through the International Youth Internship Program (IYIP) funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC).

The IYIP experience takes place over a period of seven months: eight days of pre-departure training in Quebec City, six months of internship in the country of assignment and a debriefing upon return. The internships in Jamaica take place in high schools, you will work with students of all levels and in collaboration with the teachers of the department to which your mandate is attached.

J1 | Environmental Intern - Landscaping (1 position)

You will be mandated to develop a greenhouse garden and green spaces in a primary school and to involve students and teachers in the project.

Local partner: Ardenne High School

Funding body: Global Affairs Canada (GAC).

Language: English.

Profile sought:

  • Field of study related to the internship ( horticulture, gardening, agriculture, etc.).
  • Basic command of written and spoken English.

Conditions:

  • Internship from September 2019 to March 2020
  • Expenses included (accommodation, transport, food, etc.).
  • Monthly living allowance for your personal expenses.
  • Living and accommodation expenses included.
  • Mandatory pre-departure training (September, 2019).
