Mandated by the Ministère de l’Éducation du Québec
This program is funded by the Ministère de l’Éducation. Éducation internationale is mandated by the Ministère de l’Éducation du Québec to manage this program.
It is important to ensure the project’s eligibility before submitting a grant application.
- The internship project outside Québec can take place either individually or as a group of several Québec students under the responsibility of an educational organization. There are no limits on the number of students eligible for the grant.
- The stay must last at least seven days (number of days devoted to carrying out the internship, including a maximum of two days for travel).
- The stay must take place outside of Québec. Projects taking place in Canadian provinces or territories are eligible, as well as international projects.
- Only Québec students who are enrolled full-time in a program leading to a DVS or an AVS are eligible for a grant.
- At least half the credits of the program of study must have been completed in Québec before the start of the project.
- Training acquired outside Québec must lead to obtaining a number of credits (or the mention on the report card of a number of hours worked in a company in the case of Québec students enrolled in an alternating work/training program) in the program of study underway at the home institution, equivalent to full-time training for the period concerned.
- At least 10% of the overall value of the student mobility project must come from funding sources other than the grant program. This contribution must be detailed in the budget outline.
- The stay must be safe.
- At the time of submitting and implementing the project, the destination must not be subject to a Government of Canada travel advisory to avoid all non-essential travel.
*Under this program, the definition of a Québec student is the same as that used in the Regulation respecting the definition of a resident of Québec (CQLR, c. E-9.1, r. 2)
The maximum amount allocated is $2,000 per student.
One or two supervisors may receive a grant of the same value as the students.
Eligible expenses for this grant include transportation, accommodation, and meals.
It may also cover, secondarily, part of the expenses incurred by the school service center or private educational institution for substitute teaching costs.
The annual amount that can be awarded in grants is $412,000 for all submitted projects.
The program will be implemented using two types of competition: an ongoing annual one and one with a fixed submission deadline date. Here are the details of these competitions.
The ongoing annual competition: Applications are processed on a rolling basis starting April 1. This call closes when the remaining funds are insufficient to finance all submitted projects. The closing date will be announced in due course on the Échanges Azimut website.
The competition with a fixed submission deadline date: This competition begins once the ongoing annual competition is closed and ends on the following February 15. It provides an opportunity for funding to projects that could not be financed under the ongoing annual competition.
Applications for a grant may be submitted retroactively, that is, after the project is completed, provided that it is within the same fiscal year.
You will receive confirmation of receipt and compliance of your application by email within one week of submission.
The administration of the educational institution must complete the grant use report and submit it in the drop box below no later than 30 days after the project is completed. Any unused funds must be reimbursed
The report must be accompanied by these appendices:
- Appendix I: the stay schedule as it actually unfolded
- Appendix II: Budget outline including actual expenses and revenue
- Appendix III: List of Quebec students
- Proof of purchase for eligible expenses for each participant
- Any other document considered relevant (testimonials, photos, etc.)
