Mobility grants in vocational training – Staff

It is important to ensure the project’s eligibility before submitting a grant application.

• The project outside of Québec can be carried out individually or as a group under the responsibility of a school organization. It should be noted that group projects must demonstrate the added value of such a stay.
• The stay must last at least seven days (number of days devoted to carrying out the project, including a maximum of two days for travel).
• The stay must take place outside of Québec. Projects taking place in provinces or territories of Canada are eligible, as well as international projects.
• The following activities are eligible:
  • Acting as a teacher or guest speaker in a class, seminar or workshop offered to students and/or teachers and staff of vocational training institutions outside Québec. Participation in trade fairs, seminars or conventions is not an eligible activity.
  • Carrying out targeted activities to find and adopt models, develop partnerships, innovative practices and tools in their area of specialization in order to develop their expertise during a stay in a vocational training institution outside Québec or in a relevant vocational training organization
• Multiple projects may be submitted by a school organization per government fiscal year.
• The stay must be safe.
• At the time of submitting and implementing the project, the destination must not be subject to a Government of Canada travel advisory to avoid all non-essential travel.

The amount of the grant is based on the number of days devoted to carrying out the project:

• From 7 to 14 days: maximum of $3500
• 15 days and more: maximum of $4000

The funding awarded must be used primarily to cover transportation, accommodation and food costs.

It may also cover, secondarily, part of the expenses incurred by the school service center or private educational institution.

The annual amount that can be awarded in grants is $85,000 for all submitted projects.

The Program will be implemented through two types of calls for projects: a continuous annual call and a fixed-deadline call. Details are provided below.

Continuous Annual Call for Projects: Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis as they are received, beginning on April 1. This call for projects closes when the remaining funds are no longer sufficient to support all submitted projects.

Fixed-Deadline Call for Projects: This call for projects opens once the continuous call for projects has closed and remains open until the following February 15. It provides an opportunity for projects that could not be funded under the continuous call for projects to be considered for funding.

It is also possible to submit a retroactive grant application, meaning after the project has taken place, provided that the application is submitted within the same fiscal year.

You will receive an email confirming receipt of your application and its compliance with program requirements within one week of submission. We will also indicate which type of call for projects your application will be processed under.

The administration of the educational institution must complete the grant use report and submit it in the drop box below no later than 30 days after the project is completed. Any unused funds must be reimbursed

The report must be accompanied by these appendices:

• Appendix I: the stay schedule as it actually unfolded
• Appendix II: Budget outline including actual expenses and revenue
• Proof of purchase for eligible expenses for each participant
• Any other document considered relevant (testimonials, photos, etc.)
