Mandated by the Ministère de l’Éducation du Québec
This program is funded by the Ministère de l’Éducation. Éducation internationale is mandated by the Ministère de l’Éducation du Québec to manage this program.
It is important to ensure the project’s eligibility before submitting a grant application.
The following activities are eligible:
- Collaborating to varying degrees with the teaching staff or members of the management team of the partner institution to share teaching and pedagogical resources, interests, and expertise, with the aim of mutually enriching practices
- Pooling knowledge and skills by discovering different pedagogical approaches or approaches associated with other school administrations
- Allowing the teachers or management staff to immerse themselves in the cultural specificities of the partner institution to promote exchanges
The eligibility conditions are as follows:
- The co-teaching and co-management project outside of Québec can be carried out individually or as a group under the responsibility of a school organization. There is no set limit on the number of individuals per group. It should be noted that group projects must demonstrate the added value of such a stay.
- The stay must last at least seven days (number of days devoted to carrying out the project, including a maximum of two days for travel).
- The stay must take place outside of Québec. Projects taking place in Canadian provinces or territories are eligible, as well as international projects.
- Multiple projects may be submitted by a school organization per government fiscal year.
- The stay must be safe
- At the time of the project’s implementation, the destination must not be subject to a Government of Canada travel advisory to avoid all non-essential travel.
The amount of the grant is based on the number of days devoted to carrying out the project:
- From 7 to 14 days: maximum of $3500
- 15 days and more: maximum of $4000
The funding awarded must be used primarily to cover transportation, accommodation and food costs.
It may also cover, secondarily, part of the expenses incurred by the school service center or private educational institution.
The annual amount that can be awarded in grants is $240,000 for all submitted projects.
The program will be implemented using two types of competition: an ongoing annual one and one with a fixed submission deadline date. Here are the details of these competitions.
The ongoing annual competition: Applications are processed on a rolling basis starting April 1. This call closes when the remaining funds are insufficient to finance all submitted projects. The closing date will be announced in due course on the Échanges Azimut website.
The competition with a fixed submission deadline date: This competition begins once the ongoing annual competition is closed and ends on the following February 15. It provides an opportunity for funding to projects that could not be financed under the ongoing annual competition.
Applications for a grant may be submitted retroactively, that is, after the project is completed, provided that it is within the same fiscal year.
You will receive confirmation of receipt and compliance of your application by email within one week of submission.
The administration of the educational institution must complete the grant use report and submit it in the drop box below no later than 30 days after the project is completed. Any unused funds must be reimbursed
- Appendix I: the stay schedule as it actually unfolded
- Appendix II: Budget outline including actual expenses and revenue
- Proof of purchase for eligible expenses for each participant
- Any other document considered relevant (testimonials, photos, etc.)
