International Youth Internship Program (IYIP)
Benin | Application & selection process

• Have a post-secondary diploma (Cégep and above) or a DVS.
• Be between the ages of 19 and 30 when the final selection is made.
• A Canadian citizen or a permanent resident.
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Hold a passport valid until six months after completion date of the internship.
• Never have participated in the IYIP.
• Have a basic knowledge of spoken and written Spanish.

To apply to the IYIP | Peru, you must email us the following documents:

• The completed application form.
• Your CV.

The reception of applications is continuous and ends 6 weeks before the scheduled date of departure. It is recommended to apply as soon as possible.

If your application meets the desired profile, you will be invited for an interview at our offices in Quebec City or by video-conference.

If the result is positive, we will send you an internship contract. You will have to sign it and return it to us. Once signed, your participation in IYIP will be official.

From now on, our team will communicate with you to guide you in the steps necessary to your departure and will ensure a constant follow-up during your stay.

In order to prepare you for your internship assignment, an eight-day-long pre-departure meeting is organised in Quebec City with all selected interns. This meeting will address the following topics:

• Logistics/safety.
• Intercultural relations.
• North-South relationships.
• Result-based management.
• Environment.
• Gender equality.
• Ethics.
• Job search.

Essential information will be given during this meeting and attendance is mandatory to participate in the program.
